2017 Spelling Bee
It was 33 rounds of tension and ever increasingly difficult words, but at the end of the afternoon, 14 spellers from 3rd through 8th grades had been whittled down to the Top Two.
Congratulations to Camryn- First Place Winner, and Iris- Runner Up (both in 7th grade) for their outstanding achievement in the 2017 Scripps National Spelling Bee Program.
Camryn was finally able to stick the win and hold on to first place by correctly spelling “consumption.”
Both Camryn and Iris now go to the Windward District Spelling Bee on February 7th.
All Third through Eighth grade students at SAS are able to participate in the preliminary rounds. Two or three children then progressed to the final round after competing against all of the children in her/his grade level. What an honor! Congratulations to all of the students at St. Anthony School for your efforts.
Our SAS Spelling Bee has been such a positive and enjoyable experience for the children. This is a competition that is meaningful for a long time to come. This year, for the first time, we held a 2nd Grade Spelling Bee, which was a huge success. Congratulations to Luke our 2nd grade champion!
