Home of the Warriors! Welcome to St. Anthony School!
History of St. Anthony School
St. Anthony School: A Tradition of Excellence Since 1952
St. Anthony School was established in 1952, with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet serving as its first teachers. From its humble beginnings, the school has provided a solid educational foundation for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. As the oldest private school in Kailua and the first private elementary school on the Windward side of O‘ahu, St. Anthony has nurtured thousands of students, building a legacy of academic, spiritual, and personal development.
Located in central Kailua, just steps away from Kailua Beach and two miles from the Marine Corps Base, St. Anthony School boasts a diverse student body. Families come from all across the island, including many from military backgrounds, as the school has a close relationship with the military community and has been adopted by the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment. We also treasure our “legacy families,” who have attended St. Anthony across multiple generations.
Our faculty reflects this diversity, comprising local residents, alumni, military retirees, dependents, and those who have chosen Hawai‘i as their home. Together, they create a dynamic learning environment that challenges students academically, nurtures them spiritually, and enriches them culturally.
St. Anthony students excel in both academics and personal development. Graduates are consistently well-received by O‘ahu’s leading private high schools, including Catholic and non-Catholic institutions. This success is a testament to the collaborative efforts of teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and parishioners, who collectively foster a foundation for spiritual, moral, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth.
Faith and service are integral to the St. Anthony experience. Students are immersed in Catholic traditions through daily Religion classes, attendance at Mass, sacramental preparation, and community service. These opportunities, combined with moments of reflection and faith formation, instill a deep respect for God, parents, teachers, and peers. Teachers support this journey by treating each student as an individual, nurturing confidence and self-esteem while encouraging mutual respect and compassion.
At St. Anthony School, we emphasize preparing students to become responsible citizens of our nation and the world. Our Christian environment encourages students to recognize their personal obligations to themselves and others, empowering them to make positive choices and contribute meaningfully to the global community.
We invite you to join the thousands of students who have called St. Anthony School their home. With its strong academic foundation, deep spiritual roots, and a supportive community, St. Anthony offers every student the opportunity to become a “Warrior” for life.
